Travl
got its name because many times we use it in the discomforts of motion
sickness, it is also wonderful for alleviating menstrual cramps. Now it's not
going to solve the problem of menstrual cramps but it will get rid of them until
another formula can begin to tone up the female organ regions so that they don't
have such a terrible time. One afternoon I had one of my daughters come to me,
she told me she was having terrible cramps and needed something for it. When she
said this I immediately became judgmental, saying my daughter would not have
this problem if she had done what I told her to do. Now the father in me would
teach her a lesson, and the compassionate herbalist would be stuffed in a
corner. Shame, shame on me! Never the less that's what I did. Knowing that
Ginger tea taste really nasty but would help, that's what I told her to take. My
response of "that'll work" to her grimacing face as she said "Oh,
daddy, that's nasty" was the last thing I told her about this particular
matter, until I overheard a conversation she was having with her mother.
Obviously she was not in pain anymore and was quite excited about what she had
done. I thought my lesson of drinking nasty herbal tea had not been what I had
anticipated. The nastiness of the experience was to teach her to take her herbs
with greater consistency so that repeating this tea would never happen again. So
I asked her what she did. It was obvious by her smile that she didn't do what I
had suggested. Her reply to me was "I took Travl and my cramps went away in
just a few minutes." Perplexed I asked her why she took Travl, her reply
was "I know that Ginger tea is nasty and I didn't want to drink it, so
looked through your formulas and found the one with the most ginger in it, and I
took it. When the capsules opened up in my stomach, I felt this warm feeling
flow over my cramping stomach…and the pain went away." Boy did I learn
something! The father learned he shouldn't be an herbalist, and the herbalist
learned "don't let the father inside say anything. If I had have had the
same compassion, understanding and listening ear perhaps that calm peaceful
feeling that descends upon the physician in need of an answer would have been
inspired with this one. I had never used it for that but I do now. And I'm sorry
that I had to learn this lesson this way. the It's also used as a
catalyst, lets say for instance you are taking an herbal formula and you want it
to work a little bit faster…a little better, than take some Travl with it. One
is sufficient when you are doing that. If you are taking a handful of herbs
throw some Travl in there and it increases the absorption and gets it into the
system much faster. This formula is also used in external bleeding, circulation,
dizziness, hot flashes. Travl helps increase tolerance to heat, it's used in
high and low blood pressure, nose bleeds, and also in shock. Traditional
use of the contents: Ginger's influence is slow starting, but
has a high sustained level of action upon the circulatory system. Also used in
nausea, cramps, & dizziness. Cayenne influence upon the
circulatory system is vary fast, & is helpful in dizziness, heart problems,
& heat & cold tolerance. Peppermint Lf. has been used for
pain, nerve disorders, headache & insomnia. Rosemary Lf. is
used in circulatory problems, allergies,
nervous allergies, pain &
digestive pain.
