Home is:  La Cienega, New Mexico

I live in a new double-wide mobile home on a couple acres of desert land just south of Santa Fe, New Mexico with my partner Dorothy. We moved to New Mexico from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where it is definitely beautiful, the summers are too short, and the winters are much too long. Maude, Goldie and BK are the cats that share my life.

I am a photographer, I do some water color paintings here and there, and three years ago last April, my life was changed by Breast Cancer.

I was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma in situ, which means the cancer was still where it started, in the milk ducts. After a few tense weeks including a biopsy, I had a mastectomy, and that took care of the breast cancer. My surgeon is convinced that I'll live a long and healthy life, and die of something else.

So--while facing and recovering from surgery, I realized that now was as good a time as any to start doing what I wanted to do with my life. I changed jobs (a radical change for me) and became a technical writer, designing Online Help for a software company, and now I am a training and development specialist with Public Health for the state of New Mexico.

Dorothy and I are also planning trips and doing things we've wanted to do, because now is truly a great time to start enjoying what we do, where we live, and who we are.
